The Silvertree Properties, which include The Silvertree Hotel, the Wildwood Lodge, and the Snowmass Conference Center, has announced the installation of high-speed wireless Internet access throughout its facilities. Wayport, the leading provider of the service in more than 650 locations nationwide, is the contractor.
Visitors and meeting attendees will be able to stay connected and productive from any one of 418 guestrooms, eight meeting rooms, the 22,000-square-foot conference center, and in common areas such as lobbies and restaurants. Specifically, guests can connect to the Internet 50 times faster than the standard modem speed to send and receive email, accelerate data transfers, deliver product demonstrations or presentations via Internet, and take advantage of online registration.
“Wayport’s technology, customer service, and ongoing sales and marketing support make it the leader in the industry,” Jason Blake, director of information systems for The Silvertree Properties, reports. “This allows us to better serve our guests. . .who are asking for this service more and more.”
Wayport supplies Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless and wired Internet access for 565 major hotels, including Four Seasons, Loews, Wyndham, Hilton, Marriott, and Sheraton; eight airports, including those in Dallas, Minneapolis, Seattle, New York and Oakland, and as a pilot program in 75 McDonald’s restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area.
